- Expanding the network of dermatology advisory boards with the launch of the 8th advisory board
Amorepacific's authentic derma brand 'AESTURA' successfully launched the first 'AESTURA Sensitive Skin Cosmetic Research Association' kickoff event at the Andaz Hotel in Apgujeong on the 24th, marking the establishment of the 8th advisory board.
This research association is an expanded form of the existing network of advisory groups composed of dermatologists from seven university hospitals, now including clinic-based advisors. The association plans to hold regular meetings twice a year to share the latest insights with frontline clinicians on sensitive skin conditions, post-procedure care, and more. They will discuss the brand's formulation research, ingredient development, clinical verification, and product development.
The first Sensitive Skin Cosmetic Research Association event was organized to share the clinical efficacy of Amorepacific's proprietary patented ingredient 'TRPV1 (Transient receptor potential vanilloid subfamily, member 1) antagonist Asivatrep,' first applied in Atobarrier Itching Cream, and to share real-world experiences and insights from clinics.
The event was chaired by Dr. Hangrae Cho of O'Kim's Dermatology Clinic (14th President of the Korean Dermatological Association) and included presentations by Professor Soyoun Cho of Seoul National University Boramae Medical Center on 'Insights into the Treatment of Itching Patients and Clinical Results of Asivatrep,' Dr. Haewoong Lee of Louis Dermatology Clinic on 'Clinical Cases of AESTURA Atobarrier Itching Cream MD,' and Mr. Junghwan Kim of Amorepacific Skincare 3 Lab on 'Asivatrep Formulation Technology.'
Dr. Hangrae Cho of O'Kim's Dermatology Clinic stated, "Itching is not just a simple skin symptom but a factor that lowers the quality of life by affecting sleep, concentration, and emotional stability. Especially for patients with sensitive skin, there is a desperate need for safe and effective alternative treatment options due to limited responses to existing treatments and concerns about side effects." He added, "The AESTURA Atobarrier Itching Cream MD, currently prescribed in clinics, is evaluated as a particularly useful product for caring for patients with sensitive skin, as it minimizes skin irritation while effectively relieving itching and has high safety and patient satisfaction for long-term use."
Mr. Byunghwi Seo, Head of Amorepacific R&I Center, explained, "Asivatrep is a patented ingredient independently developed by Amorepacific, and its efficacy in relieving itching and protecting the skin barrier has been proven through various clinical studies. The 'Atobarrier Itching Cream MD,' in which this ingredient was first applied, goes beyond simple skin protection to prevent secondary damage caused by scratching and physically protect sensitive skin." He added, "AESTURA will continue to collaborate with dermatologists and experts from various fields to research solutions for the complex skin concerns of patients with skin diseases and strive to contribute to practical skin improvement."
AESTURA, as a leading derma brand in Korea, has introduced a professional line through a network of dermatology advisors, with 100% of top general hospitals adopting AESTURA's derma solutions, achieving cumulative sales of 7 million units in over 4,100 hospitals and clinics nationwide.
Now, as a representative K-derma brand beyond Korea, AESTURA is expanding its influence by collaborating with global dermatologists, participating in the 124th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Dermatological Association in May and launching in Canada with a brand presentation at the Canadian Dermatology Association (CDA) on June 20th.
